El Consulado General de la India en Atlanta ha recibido avisos sobre estafadores que suplantan líneas telefónicas de la Embajada y los Consulados para engañar a las personas. Estos estafadores buscan información personal o intentan extorsionar dinero alegando errores en pasaportes, formularios de visa o inmigración.
Con efecto inmediato, se aconseja a todos los solicitantes NO enviar sus "Solicitudes de Servicios Consulares Misceláneos – Solicitudes de Servicio de Legalización" al Consulado por correo postal. Desde el 1 de agosto de 2025, todos los servicios consulares misceláneos (excepto el registro de defunciones/NOC para el transporte de restos mortales/cenizas y el Certificado de Vida) son gestionados por el proveedor de servicios autorizado del Consulado, M/s VFS Global, en 1200 Altmore Ave Suite 175, Sandy Springs, GA 30342.
